A new Halloween experience is set to launch this month.

The creators of The Twilight Trail have announced a new experience at Wilderspool Woods, near the Trafford Centre.

The Halloween Trail will run from October 17 to November 3.

The event will transform the 4.5-acre woodland into a haunted world, using more than 100,000 lights to illuminate a skeleton village.

Visitors can expect supernatural surprises, laser-filled gardens, colourful bats, and LED eyes watching from the treetops.

The trail will also feature a spooky soundtrack by DJ Rasp, who will create an 'eerie atmosphere' as visitors explore.

Families can enjoy interactive activities such as pumpkin picking and carving, marshmallow roasting, a skeleton petting zoo, and a skeleton disco.

There will also be a haunted hotel and a pub, 'Ye Olde Skeleton Arms', hidden in the woods.

The trail will also feature a food and drink programme curated by Freight Island, with treats from traders such as Formaggi by Lazy Tony’s, Voodoo Rays, Cabin Chocolat, and Soft Boi.

Heard, a new burger venture from two Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey, will also feature on the trail.

"We can’t wait to see Wilderspool Wood lit up at night."
