Blackburn with Darwen Council has issued a warning and introduced temporary parking restrictions as a cemetery is set to be very busy this afternoon (September 25).
Two funerals will be taking place at Pleasington Cemetery and Crematorium between 4pm and 6pm.
Anyone visiting the cemetery between these hours should only park in areas highlighted in yellow on the map below.
The extension will also be closed to vehicles but you can access the area by foot.
A council spokesperson said: "This afternoon (September 25) we expect the cemetery to be very busy from 4pm - 6pm due to two funerals taking place within the new extension.
"If you are attending the cemetery by vehicle during these hours, PLEASE PARK ONLY IN THE AREAS HIGHLIGHTED YELLOW – seen on the map attached.
"Please do not park in any of the areas marked in red. The extension, past the red cross – will also be closed to vehicles. However, you can still access the area by foot.
"Parking in areas marked in red causes a lot of damage to the grass and can cause vehicles to be blocked in and we hope you will help us in ensuring this doesn’t happen going forward."
