More than 1,000 Year 11 students from schools across Hyndburn have been invited to attend a special Futures Event at Accrington Stanley's Wham Stadium next month.
The event, supported by local education and training providers including North Lancs Training Group (NLTG), Accrington & Rossendale College and Blackburn College, will welcome businesses and organisations from a wide range of industries from across the region.
Employers such as the RAF and the Ministry of Defence will join local companies such as Sundown Solutions, Fagan & Whalley, Accrington Stanley Community Trust, CMAC, Stolle Machinery and many more at the event, which is being hosted by Accrington Stanley in their 1968 Lounge for the second year running.
Organised by Amazing Accrington, Year 11 students from St Christopher's CE High School, Mount Carmel RC High School, Oswaldtwistle School, Hyndburn Academy, Rhyddings School and The Hollins Technology College will attend throughout the day on October 4.
Opportunities and careers will be showcased, while fun activities will be on offer for the students to take part in on the day, as well as plenty of goodies to take home.
Amazing Accrington have also teamed up with Fazila Foods and Refresco to provide food and drink for the exhibitors.
Warren Eastham, commercial director at Accrington Stanley, said: "We are delighted to be hosting this event for the second year running. Our 1968 Lounge is the perfect venue for events like this and we can't wait to welcome everyone down here on the day."
Murray Dawson, Chair of Amazing Accrington, said: "The Futures Event is a fantastic way, for us as business leaders, to get every 15-year-old in the borough under one roof, where they get to learn about the amazing opportunities available to them in the region.
"There are so many fantastic jobs available, and it is crucial that our next generation get to learn about them."
