An actor from the Ribble Valley has opened up about the reality of starring in a music video for Shakira, amid rumours that he sparked a romance with the Colombian popstar.

Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Lucien Laviscount spoke about Shakira and Cardi B’s music video he starred in.

Lucien played the role of a centaur (a mythological creature that is part man and part horse) who becomes Shakira’s love interest, in the music video for Puntería.

Despite the attractive aesthetic of the video, Lucien said filming the music video was not as “sexy” as it seems.

He told Drew: “It wasn’t at all sexy, [it looks good] but in real life not so much.

"I was in this freezing cold studio in Miami.  I was there at 6.30am. They used duct tape to stick a broomstick to my bum.

“It’s 6.30am, it’s freezing cold, I have this broomstick hanging out the back of me and then Shakira and Cardi B pop in. That was the first impression I left.”

He later told Drew: “[Shakira's] hips don’t lie. I can agree with that”.

Lucien, a former Ribblesdale High School pupil, also spoke to Drew about a potential spin-off for his character, Alfie, on Emily in Paris.

The Read actor said: “Alfie spin off, that would be cool.

"We have no idea what is going to come through on the page and I hope it shocks the audience as much as it shocks us.”

Lucien, 32, was rumoured to be dating the 47-year-old singer after the couple got cosy for a photoshoot, the images of which were posted to Instagram.

In March, they were also spotted having dinner together at an Italian restaurant in America.

The songstress had been married to ex-Manchester United and Barcelona player Gerard Pique, but the couple separated in 2022.

Lucien starred in several TV series and soaps between 2007 and 2011, including Grange Hill, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.

In 2011 he also landed a place in Celebrity Big Brother and came fifth overall.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph in 2006, Lucien said: “Hopefully I will be in Grange Hill for a few years and after that I want to get into films.

“I would love to make it big in America or Britain."
