A long-established Blackburn car and van dealership has announced it is moving into the former Tuffnells depot in Darwen.

Enzo Cars and Vans is currently based in Mayfield Street and will be taking over the two-acre Tuffnells Parcels Express site in Chanters Way, Darwen.

The company hopes to be fully operational at the new site from mid-October and said the team are ‘excited’ to be relocating.

Bash Enzo, from the company, said: “I know people in Blackburn and Darwen will be aware of the site.

“We have been working hard to renovate the building both inside and out. There was some work to be done to the interior and we wanted to bring it up to standard.

“We are excited to be moving to the new site which gives us an opportunity to expand.

“We have been based off Bolton Road for over two decades and this new site will give us a lot more space, particularly when it comes to parking our vehicles.”

Enzo Cars and Vans is based off Bolton RoadBash said the company employs around 20 staff and the new site will hold more than 200 vehicles both inside and outside the building.

He added: “We sell a range of cars, vans, HGVs, recovery trucks and motorbikes attracting customers from across the region and country.

“We hope to have an opening event in the coming months to celebrate the relocation.”

Tuffnells parcels went into administration in 2023Tuffnells, which delivered large and bulky goods to more than 4,000 businesses across the UK, including retailers Wickes and Evans Cycles went in administration in June 2023.

It led to the majority of Tuffnells’ 2,200 employees, working across its 33 UK depots being made redundant.

The company operated in more than 160 destinations worldwide.

In October last year, DX Group reopened some Tuffnells depots after buying them from administrators for the rival delivery firm.

The Slough-based company struck a deal to rescue 15 Tuffnells Parcels Express sites and 250 staff in June.
