A family are urging people from across the town to visit their Halloween decorations and help raise money for charity at the same time.
Kenneth Holliday and wife May who live on Lamlash Road have been putting up their fantastic decorations during Halloween, Christmas and Easter for a number of years.
The Halloween decorations of Staffa Crescent and Rothesay Road in Shadsworth have already gone up outside the home.
Kenneth said: “We put them up now because it takes us such a long time to get them all out for Halloween. We do it for Christmas and Easter and Remembrance Day as well.
“This year, we have got Momo and zombie - which screams and Annabelle, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger.
"A new one going out this year is an inmate in an electric chair.
“We do this every year and try and get better every time. We started doing this in 2019 and then things just took off during the lockdown.
“We just want to make lot people happy and share in the fun. We do it for our two daughters as-well because they are autistic and they just love lights and music and everything about Halloween.
“We do it for all the children in the neighbourhood too. It brings everyone together.
“Last year, we raised money for the Secret Santa charity and got gifts for children in hospital.
“At Christmas we raised money for Secret Santa and St Oswald's Church in Knuzden who both got £25 each.”
This Halloween. the family will be raising money for Blackburn Allstars Majorettes and Masters of Martial Arts Blackburn to help children to go to major tournaments.
Kenneth said: “The family will be out with a bucket out all way up to Halloween night if you want to put some money in it. The garden is covered with CCTV.
“There will also be a raffle on the night as well with good gifts. The £1 tickets are on sale now and we will be announcing the raffle on Halloween night at 7pm.
“They will be a tombola as well on Halloween night in my home starting about 4pm, and we will be selling tea and coffee and drink chocolate for £1 and kids drinks for 20p.”
Kenneth added: “It is lovely meeting people and we have people who come from out of town just to see the decorations with their children.”
