MP Adnan Hussain said he wanted to celebrate the "town’s successes" as he visited one of Blackburn's oldest businesses.
Mr Hussain met with Phil Ainsworth at Ainsworth Jewellers on Darwen Street.
Phil is the fifth generation of the Ainsworth family to be a director of the family business, which in 2020 celebrated its 150th year in Blackburn.
They were joined by Helen Dimmick, a renowned jewellery specialist.
Mr Hussain said: “The impressive interior shows the pride in Blackburn they have. Their historical ties to the area is represented not just in their longevity but in the mini-museum located within with an impressive timeline of their long history displayed in informative motifs adorning the walls.
“They have recently added a beautiful wedding section in which they have partnered with other talented and local wedding businesses, designers, photographers, and by embracing change have ensured they are one of Blackburn's many success stories.
“Not content with just turning a profit they also want to be a part of the community, they are making huge strides to be a catalyst for that cohesion.”
He added: “I wanted to highlight that whilst Blackburn has its issues, it also has its many success stories.
“I was honoured to be invited and listened with great interest to their experienced take on how Blackburn can be improved, and I will do all I can in my role as MP to facilitate and assist these ideas to take Blackburn one step closer to being the bustling hub it once was.
“Socially conscious businesses like these that are adaptable, open to change and collaboration are the examples I would like to display as proudly as the original FA cup medals are displayed in their traditionally designed, but stunning store."
