A quiet corner of East Lancashire has been voted one of the top destinations in the country for getting away from technology.
With people craving spaces where they can escape their devices and switch off, perhaps Gisburn could be the place to go for ‘unplugging’.
The village sits in the Ribble Valley on the far edge of Lancashire, close to acres of outdoor space and to the Gisburn Forest, with its many walking and cycling trails.
Park Holidays, who conducted the research, found Gisburn to be the second-best place in the country for a complete disconnect.
This is owing to its lack of Wi-Fi signals available and complete lack of 4G signal providers – a living nightmare for some, but perhaps just what others are looking for.
Gisburn also boast 19.39m2 of green space per person, ensuring you can really keep away from everyone else.
Alongside the Ribble Valley village for the best places for a mindful escape is Dawlish Warren in Devon, the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, and the East Sussex towns of Winchelsea and Newhaven.
A Park Holidays spokesperson said: “In an era where constant connectivity can lead to burnout, this research highlights the importance of finding spaces where individuals can unplug from technology and experience the rejuvenating effects of nature.
“The study’s findings are set to guide those in search of tranquility, offering a curated list of destinations that provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation, reflection, and revitalisation.
“The results reveal not only the most serene locations but also those where the temptation to stay connected is minimized.
“These carefully selected spots offer the ideal environment for anyone looking to escape the digital noise and immerse themselves in the peacefulness of the UK’s most beautiful parks and green spaces.”
