Jess Glynne is among the global superstars set to take to the stage in Accrington this Saturday at the highly anticipated iMEP Music Festival.

The festival will take place on September 21 at the iMEP Arena - home of Accrington Cricket Club - and will be headlined by Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Jess Glynne.

Eddy O'Brien, chief executive of iMEP, said: "This is the biggest event that Accrington has ever hosted, and we are extremely proud to be bringing this music festival to the town.

"Tickets are selling extremely fast and we would recommend getting yours now before it's too late."

The ‘Rather Be’ and ‘Hold My Hand’ singer will headline the event, taking to the stage at 9pm.

Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt will also perform - playing DJ sets at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

Other performers include pop star Robyn Regan, Liverpool-based boyband The Kairos, and Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot.

The weather is looking promising for the festival, with the Met Office forecasting sunny spells and highs of 18 degrees through the day, though it will get cooler into the evening.

Alongside the music, there will be a number of street food stalls, bakeries and bars to enjoy, as well as opportunities to get glitter face painting and hair glitter.

The action will get underway at 6pm, with priority entry and VIP front-of-stage ticket holders getting the chance to see dynamic duo, Maurice Mallone and Cassie Mochan.

Official parking is available at the Accrington Arndale, and a number of other car parks will be open on the night across Accrington, just a 10-minute walk from the event.

Limited tickets are still available for the event and can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
