Situated near the banks of the River Ribble, this week's pub lies in the heart of the Ribble Valley, surrounded by countryside and farm life.

The Edisford Bridge was taken over earlier this year by Jamie and Becky Govier, who also own the Black Bull in Old Langho.

With the country pub receiving a new look interior, we caught up with the manager, Katie Griffin.

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Katie Griffin and I'm the restaurant manager at the Edisford Bridge pub in Clitheroe.

How are you finding managing the pub?

I've been here a few months now since graduating from university, but it has been really nice, it's a really cosy pub with a great group of locals.

What's the crowd like at the pub?

They're very sociable and all know each other, they all have their own times they come in, at our quiz night on Thursday people always return.

Describe the location

It's beautiful, we're next to the River Ribble and a bit out of the way so it's really lovely.

We’re in the countryside surrounded by lush green fields.

The new barThe new bar (Image: Edisford Bridge) What's your most popular meal?

The food is traditional pub food with a modern twist, we have a large menu with lots of options.

We do a roast on Sundays which everyone loves, and our sharing boards are new and quite popular.

Our pies are really popular; cheese and onion, steak and ale, and we do a six-ounce steak and chips with peppercorn sauce for £15. We also do beef, fish goujons and halloumi sandwiches.

Our small plates include prawns, garlic mushrooms and scampi tacos.

We also do fish and chips, linguini, cheeseburgers and eight-ounce ribeye steaks.

We’ve started doing breakfasts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8.45am to 9.45am, which people are really liking for 10 quid. It's got sausages, black pudding, hash browns - all the usual stuff.

What drinks do you do?

Draught line-up:

  • Hobgoblin Gold

  • Peroni

  • San Miguel

  • Birra Moretti

  • Carling

We also do different red and white wines, merlot, rioja etc.

Alcohol-free drinks are something we have lots of as well.

We’re under new management and they've brought a bit of popularity with them because of their reputation, plus they brought in a new bar and improved the decor.

We find we've got no issues, everything has been good.

Finally, what's the best thing about the pub?

It's got to be the location, it's just so unique!
