The UK is set to bask in sunshine later this week as forecasters predict highs of 24°C in parts of the UK – but what is the outlook in Blackburn?
Temperatures are set to peak on Thursday at 24°C, in parts of southern England.
Temperatures in Blackburn, and other parts of Lancashire, aren’t set to be as high, but the weather is forecast to still remain mild.
Today (September 17) and Thursday, Blackburn is set to see highs of 20°C. The rest of the week is set to remain mild before turning cloudy, and slightly cooler on Sunday. It is a similar outlook in other parts of East Lancashire.
David Oliver, a deputy chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “In the wake of the front [last] Sunday, high pressure then builds, bringing fine and dry conditions to most parts of the UK for much of [this] week.
“If any rain develops it is expected to be confined to the extreme northwest of Scotland on Tuesday.
"There is a risk of some fog patches overnight and temperatures continue to increase, with many places a little above average by mid-week.”
