Delays are expected along a busy Blackburn Road with roadworks taking place on Tuesday, September 17.
Grane Road, which connects Blackburn to Haslingden will be shut by Lancashire County Council for roadworks.
The types of work which are being carried out have not been stated.
It is expected to be closed for all traffic between 9am and 3pm.
Both lanes will be closed, and drivers will have to look for alternative routes between the two towns.
Routes can be taken into Blackburn via Cocker Brook which will also carry passengers onto the M65.
Drivers hoping to reach Ramsbottom will have to take the Roman Road or travel along the A666.
Additionally, in Haslingden work is beginning on a carriageway incursion from September 16 to 18.
