A Hyndburn war memorial will be rededicated after researchers uncovered 19 more World War One soldiers from the township who died in the war.
The service will take place on Saturday, September 28, at noon to honour the men whose names have been added to the monument in Memorial Park, Great Harwood.
Researchers discovered the names 18 years ago and it has taken until now for them to be etched onto the memorial.
Dignitaries from the council, Hyndburn MP Sarah Smith, the Mayor, the Lord Lieutenant and armed forces champions will attend the event.
Gerald Garrood, chair of the Great Harwood branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “It will be brilliant for the town.
"It is important these 19 forgotten soldiers are remembered as they gave their lives so we could live the lives we are living now.”
Verses from Flanders Field will be read out by the Lord Lieutenant, and it will also be attended by Friends of Memorial Park members.
The Legion has reached out on social media to the families of the 19 and they hope some of them will attend the event.
All members of the community are welcome to attend the event and pay their respects to the soldiers.
And local children of St Bartholomew's school in Great Harwood, along with a local artist, Cath Holmes, have created a canvas for the rededication.
It will be on display near to the Memorial until after the Service.
Built in 1926, the rededication comes a couple of years before the memorial's 100th anniversary, when an additional event will happen.
It also comes shortly after Memorial Park was handed Green Flag status after major redevelopment work.
Developments included repairs to the war memorial as well as upgrades to access, signage, railings walls and gardens.
Improvements were also made to the woodlands as well as new bulb planting, nature walks and the creation of a forest school area with educational trails and resources.
Additional funding will be provided to develop a sports pavilion and community room in the next stage of its regeneration.
