A motorcyclist in his 60s has been taken to hospital following a crash.
Police were called to the A59 near Whalley just after 8am today (September 12) following reports of a crash.
The road remains closed between the junction with the A617 Accrington Road and the McDonald's roundabout near Barrow.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to the A59 at Whalley at between the roundabout at the junction with Accrington Road A671 and the roundabout at McDonald's at 8.05am following reports of an RTC.
"A male motorcyclist in his 60s has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

"Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to the motorcyclist coming off his motorbike.

Traffic on roads around the area has increased while the closure is in place.
Many people are using Barrow as a cut-through to get to Clitheroe from the Whalley area.
Police earlier advised drivers to avoid the area.
