When buying a house in Lancashire, is having a garden at the top of your priority list?

If you’re looking to move in the area, you might be wondering where some of the best places are when it comes to having a garden that isn’t overlooked.

With this in mind, the most affordable areas the county to own a property with a private garden space have been unveiled in a new study.

It comes as MG Timber and Online Marketing Surgery have created the “Garden Space Report” which helped rank areas across the UK based on their home outdoor space, revealing the best areas to buy houses with a garden.

To do this, the experts have used data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) regarding access to gardens and public green spaces in UK, where they found the property garden space area for neighbourhoods in Lancashire.

Top 10 areas in Lancashire with the most private garden space

  1. Waddington, Gisburn & Slaidburn (area) - Ribble Valley (local authority) - 2,155,279 (home garden space area m2)
  2. Wilpshire & Mellor - Ribble Valley - 2,048,142
  3. Elswick, Singleton & Weeton - Fylde - 1,933,094
  4. Scarisbrick, Halsall & Haskayne - West Lancashire - 1,905,098
  5. Kellet & Lune Valley - Lancaster - 1,818,016
  6. Parbold, Appley Bridge & Wrightington - West Lancashire - 1,762,233
  7. Broughton & Wychnor - Preston - 1,743,953
  8. Preesall, Stalmine & Hambleton - Wyre - 1,657,686
  9. Bickerstaffe & Newburgh - West Lancashire - 1,639,668
  10. Aughton - West Lancashire - 1,607,792
