A fundraiser has been launched after a house fire in Rishton on Wednesday (September 11).

Two fire engines were called to a kitchen fire in Bridgefield Close, at around 9am. Fire crews were in attendance for around five hours and 30 minutes.

One of the neighbours, Donna Parker, has launched a fundraiser for the victims of the fire.

She said pets died in the fire adding their world “has been turned upside down”.

The money from the fundraiser will be used to cover expenses, such as temporary housing, clothing, and basic necessities.

At the time of writing, £710 has been raised.

The fundraiser said: “It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you today.

"A devastating house fire has struck our neighbour, tragically claiming the lives of their pets and leaving our dear neighbours with unimaginable loss.

“In the blink of an eye, their world has been turned upside down.

“As a community, we are rallying together to provide support during this incredibly difficult time.

"We are raising funds to help cover immediate needs such as expenses, temporary housing, clothing, and basic necessities as they begin the long journey of healing and rebuilding their “lives.

"No donation is too small. Whether it's a monetary contribution or simply sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family, every bit of support will make a difference.

“Let’s come together to show our neighbours that they are not alone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity during this sad time.”
