VOLUNTEERS aged 12 to 93 from across Lancashire have been recognised for their efforts at a special celebration evening.
The individuals from the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership attended a hotpot supper and celebration event at County Hall.
Some 23 of them, who have each completed at least a decade of community service, were given certificates and recognised for their work by Lancashire County Council's vice chairman Cllr Alf Clempson and Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, its director of public health.
Cllr Clempson said: "We have more than 1,000 volunteers supporting a wide range of services.
"Our volunteers come from all walks of life and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to support our communities.
"From our youngest volunteer, who is just 12 years old, to our oldest volunteer, an inspiring 93 years young, they all exemplify the spirit of giving and community support.
"We are especially proud to recognise and extend a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers who have been with us for more than 10 years. It is their passion, kindness and generosity that make all the difference."
Cllr Peter Buckley, the authority's community services boss, said: ""Our volunteers across Lancashire are truly inspirational and this special event was a way of ensuring that their work is acknowledged and celebrated."
