This fascinating aerial photo shows the end of a well-known East Lancashire education establishment.
It was taken in 1990 and in the centre of the photo you can see demolition work being carried out on the former Notre Dame School in Blackburn.
The school - originally a convent school which took borders - had become a mixed comprehensive in 1978 and had closed in 1987 when it amalgamated with John Rigby High School to create Our Lady and St John High School.
The site would be used for housing. Whalley Old Road runs across the bottom left hand corner and Whalley New Road cuts across the middle of the photo. Bottom right you can see clearance work being carried out.
