A man has been charged with attempted murder after a police officer was stabbed at a railway station.
Russell Smith, 53, has also been charged with one count of possession of a bladed article.
At around 9.30pm on September 7, a British Transport Police officer was on duty at Preston railway station when he was seriously assaulted.
Paramedics attended and the officer was taken to hospital with 'injuries consistent with being stabbed.'
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Smith, of Shakespeare Road, Preston, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court this morning (September 9).
The attack happened as people packed into the station following the BBC Radio 2 in the Park Festival at the city's Moor Park.
