People in Clitheroe had been warned to remain vigilant after items have been stolen from vehicles.

Officers have been notified of two incidents, in the Littlemoor area, where cars have been targeted and had items stolen from inside.

The first incident was reported on Thursday night, September 5, and into the early hours of the morning.

The second was in the early hours of Sunday morning (September 8) but the man was disturbed by a neighbour.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, with possibly wavy, unkempt brown hair. He was wearing a hoodie and/or cap. He had been seen trying door handles.

A police spokesperson said: “Please be vigilant around keeping your vehicles secure and safe.  We have been notified of two incidents where cars have been targeted and had items stolen from inside.

“One of these occurred on the night of Thursday, September 5, into the following morning.

"The other incident occurred at approximately 2.30am on Sunday, but the male was disturbed by a neighbour.

“The offender is described as being a white male, in his 30s, with possibly wavy, unkempt brown hair and wearing a hoodie and/or cap.  He had been seen trying car door handles so we believe he was chancing his luck.
