A landlady has taken the helm of a pub in Blackburn and she has vowed to ‘give her all’ to the job.
Angela Healy, who grew up in the Livesey area, is the new landlady of the Witton Inn in Redlam.
She used to work at the pub, for a former landlady Lesley Lomax, as a barmaid.
Angela said: "I used to work here 20 years ago for the lovely landlady Lesley Lomax.
"I feel I'm coming back to where I started my barmaid career and have lovely memories in this pub. Maybe I will see some familiar faces."
The pub has passed through several managers’ hands in recent years. Danielle Derbyshire left the venue at the end of last year.
It reopened in March and was then taken on by another licensee in June. The pub announced it was under new management in August and Angela officially reopened on Friday, September 6.
Angela said she has big plans for the pub, including possible race days and children’s parties.
She said: “When I announced I was taking the pub on, I told everyone I would not promise anything I could never uphold. I said I would give my all to it.
“Going forward, I have some amazing plans. I'm a very family-orientated person so hopefully, once I have found my feet, I can start looking at planning things like children's Christmas parties and race days just as ideas.”
Angela, who has been working in the pub industry since the age of 18, said she has been made to feel welcome.
“I have only been open [for a few days] and the love and support I have received has been absolutely outstanding,” she said.
“I have been made to feel so welcome, I couldn't ask for anymore I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and can't wait to continue to meet more.”
Angela said there are no renovation plans at the moment but says the venue has been tidied up.
She said: “We are definitely looking at slashing a bit of paint about just to freshen up the place, we have just had the carpets cleaned. He did a brilliant job freshening up the place.
“As I have said I will give 100 per cent [of my efforts] to The Witton. This is part of my family now.”
