An Accrington mental health residential home celebrated the opening of its new summer house with a garden party.

Oswald House unveiled its new summer house known as ‘Shedquarters’ with a buffet and live music.

The event brought together residents, team members and community members and created a strong sense of community.             

Staff created a warm and relaxed atmosphere which allowed everyone to connect and enjoy the party spirit.

Keith Browner, Chief Executive Officer of Active Care Group said: “It was an honour to open the new summer house at Oswald House. It is a real privilege watching our transformation unfold and seeing Active Care Group go from strength to strength.

“The day was fantastic — amazing positivity and energy from everyone involved! Thanks, and well done to the team.”

In his opening speech, Keith shared his excitement for the ongoing growth and positive transformation within the residential home.

Providing a new relaxed space for residents, the new summer house allows people to relax and enjoy the surrounding gardens, especially during the summer months.

Oswald House contains nine en-suite bedrooms and works alongside key workers, families and medical professionals to ensure the support provided is tailor-made to the individual.

Residents were joined by colleagues from nearby services on Blackburn Road and Whalley Road who are also owned by Active Care Group.

The group have committed to enhancing the living environments of all its residents, tenants and patients and ensuring they have access to the best facilities possible.

It was rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission for its specialist residential service which provided rehabilitation, care and support to vulnerable women with complex mental health issues.
