After one of the coldest summers on record, the UK is set to bask in sunshine later this week – but will Lancashire be as lucky?
As high pressure brings with it warmer, drier spells in the north of England, Lancashire is expected to see temperatures soar, and the sun finally come out.
After a gloomy start to the week, temperatures on Friday, September 6 are expected to break the 24-degree mark with hot spells continuing into the weekend.
Temperatures will begin to rise tomorrow, reaching 19 degrees and temperatures will stay above 20 all weekend.
Things will get a bit gloomier on Sunday with dark cloud hovering over East Lancashire.
Unfortunately, next week looks to be much of the same with cold spells kickstarting autumn.
The rest of the month will see a return to westerly winds and weather systems arriving from the Atlantic which will bring wetter weather in the Northwest.
