Preston has been revealed as the UK city with the most affordable Wetherspoons pints, with an average price of only £3.07.
The newly released analysis by QR Code Generator has examined the average cost of pints in more than 600 UK regions, focusing on popular beverages Carling, San Miguel, Guinness, Coors, Stella Artois, and Budweiser, in one of the country's leading pub chains, Wetherspoons.
Following closely behind, the Welsh city of Bangor scooped second place on the list where the average pint costs just a penny more, £3.08.
From only £2.58 for Carling to £3.61 for a pint of Stella Artois, Bangor offers a range of affordable drinks across its pubs.
Wrexham, another Welsh city, secures the third position with an average pint cost of £3.11, offering an inexpensive night out to its residents and visitors.
Stoke-on-Trent and Sunderland complete the top five cheap pint cities, with the average cost of a pint coming in at £3.12 and £3.14 respectively.
Even the most premium-priced pint examined in the study, a San Miguel from Stoke-on-Trent, costs as little as £3.61.
Newport, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Bradford, and Swansea, rounding off the top ten, certainly give beer lovers a reason to cheer, with the cost of an average pint ranging from £3.19 to £3.30.
For those in London, renowned for its premium prices, the study offers hope as the West London borough of Ealing was found to have the average cost of a pint at £3.46.
It also highlighted that budget-friendly pints below £4 are available in Hackney and Croydon.
However, as expected, central areas of London frequented by tourists have more expensive prices, with the average pint price exceeding £5.
Yet, choosing drinks wisely can result in reasonably priced options such as a £3.99 Coors in Westminster or a Budweiser for £4.99.
Marc Porcar, chief executive of QR Code Generator PRO S.L, said: "The analysis provides a great guideline to where people may get the most for their money when heading out to socialise with loved ones.
"For those hoping not to break the bank on a night out, heading to cities like Preston or Nottingham where drinks have been found to average cheaper than others across the country, could mean a lower bill than typically anticipated.
"Making a trip to the pub even more appealing - especially as the summer sun lingers."
