An East Lancashire property developer has been fined thousands due to a breach of planning conditions.

Langdale Homes Limited, and its director Katie Louise Irvine, have been fined a total of £2,802 for failing to comply with a notice relating to breaches of planning conditions.

The planning permission was for the junction of Greenberfield Lane, Barnoldswick.

The breach is related to plans to construct a pedestrian crossing point, pedestrian footway and associated works and cycle storage.

No representatives from the company were present at Blackburn Magistrates' Court and the matter was proved in their absence.

Langdale Homes Limited, based in Commercial Road, Darwen, was fined £770 and ordered to pay costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £308 – totalling £1,478.

Katie Irvine was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £264, totalling £1,324.

A spokesperson for Pendle Council said: “Langdale Homes Limited and its director, Katie Louise Irvine, have been fined a total of £2,802 for failing to comply with a notice relating to breaches of planning conditions.

“It related to plans to construct a pedestrian crossing point, pedestrian footway and associated works, and provide cycle storage for each property, in accordance with their planning permission on land at the junction of Greenberfield Lane, Barnoldswick.

“The case was heard at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court. No representatives from the company attended and the matter was proved in their absence.

“Katie Irvine was fined £660, ordered to pay costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £264 – totalling £1,324.

“Langdale Homes Limited was fine £770, ordered to pay costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £308 – totalling £1,478.”
