Police and fire crews were seen heading to the scene of a crash earlier today in Clayton-le-Moors.
Two cars had been in collision in Dunkenhalgh Way at around 11.45am, with one vehicle leaving the road.
Two fire engines from Accrington were called to the scene, with police also in attendance.
One witness saw four police cars heading towards the scene along with the two engines.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters used a rope pack and ladder to rescue one casualty, who was then passed into the care of the North West Ambulance Service.
Crews and police were at the scene for around an hour, with the incident described as a 'damage only' collision.
A statement from Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 11:36am today (28th August) to reports of a collision on Dunkenhalgh Way, Church, Accrington.
"Officers attended, this was a damage only collision involving 2 cars."
