A Lancashire solicitors firm continued its support for hospice after another successful annual charity golf day.
Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall (WHN) Solicitors brought together budding golfers from businesses across Lancashire and Greater Manchester and raised £5,680 for Rossendale Hospice - adding to the total £85,000 worth of support over the last 16 years.
The event included WHN’s staff team as well as 20 teams made up of clients who competed at Rossendale Golf Club in Haslingden on June 5, with the total raised now finalised.
Daniel Long, director at WHN said: “Our annual charity golf day was even bigger and better this year.
“We doubled the funds raised from last year’s event, due to the huge generosity of our sponsors and guest teams.
“Over the past 16 years, through this popular event, we have raised over £85,000 for Rossendale Hospice.
“WHN has three offices in the Rossendale area and many of our team live in the borough, so supporting the hospice is an important part of our commitment to investing in the local communities we operate in.
“It is a cause close to our heart and we are delighted to continue to support its valuable work.”
Prestfield Wealth Management, based in Bury, which also sponsored the 18th hole, bagged the trophy for first place and was closely followed by the team from JJH Properties, with Bury BID finishing third.
The longest drive competition was won by Andrew Lee, who played for financial consultants and insolvency practitioners Horsfields’ team.
The 18th hole competition was won by Adam Goody from Leonard Curtis, while the winner of nearest the pin was Roger Lingard (WHN) on the par-3 13th.
Joanna Williams, fundraising manager at Rossendale Hospice, said: “Once again, we are thrilled to be receiving a fantastic donation from the annual golf day at Rossendale Golf Club.
“Each year the support we receive from our corporate partners WHN Solicitors is overwhelming and to be a part of the day too makes it even more special.
“Having the opportunity to also inform the guests about our vital services is extremely important in spreading the word about what we do, every day, to enhance the lives of our patients and their families."
Rossendale Hospice cares for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting conditions, with the aim of positively influencing the future of the Rossendale community facing life-limiting illness, and making sure they receive the best possible care and support.
