Plans for a new cul-de-sac of large ‘high quality’ family homes in a rural village have been submitted to the council.
The application, submitted by LJG Planning Consultancy on behalf of a Mr J Driver, would see five detached three and four-bedroom homes constructed on land off Keighley Road, Laneshawbridge,
The site, opposite the road’s junction with Vernon Road, sits below road level between Keighley Road and Colne Water, with large detached homes to either side, and opposite a line of large detached houses in Keighley Road.
The plans state the site is an “undeveloped parcel of land” in a “mainly residential area”, though notes it has a number of protected trees on the site and sits across the river from Trawden Forest Conservation Area.
Documents state the five proposed houses would have gardens featuring patio terraces and front courtyard areas with each property receiving parking space for three vehicles.
The single three-bedroomed property will have its own access from Keighley Road, with the four other houses on a cul-de-sac.
Plans add: “The units will be split level, appearing as single-storey dwellings from the Keighley Road elevation due to the fall in the land.
“This approach results in a compact form of development with limited massing and visual impact.”
The four-bedroom houses feature an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a snug, toilet, cloakroom and utility on the ground floor, with a further dining and living area on the lower ground floor.
They both feature four bedrooms on the first floor, one with an en-suite, plus a family bathroom. Two of the planned properties would also have a terrace for the master bedroom.
The single three-bedroom home would have an open-plan living and dining area on the ground floor, with a pantry, toilet and cloakroom, while on the lower ground floor it would have three double bedrooms, one with an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe, plus the family bathroom.
All five properties would have an integrated double garage.
Public consultation on the plans is open until Tuesday, September 3, and to comment on the proposals visit the Pendle Council website.
