A Burnley pub has gone viral after announcing it will pause its early morning service following the announcement of Oasis's reformation.

The Royal Dyche tweeted to tell pubgoers it will not be serving drinks at 8.50am on Saturday so staff can attempt to get Oasis tickets.

The pub secured permission to open early to serve Burnley FC fans ahead of the big East Lancashire derby against Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor on Saturday lunchtime.

The tweet announcing the closure quickly went viral as Oasis-mania swept across social media after the Britpop icons announced a reunion tour next summer.

Oasis announced they will be playing 14 dates throughout the UK and Ireland, including four in their hometown of Manchester, and at Wembley Stadium.

The tweet, as of Tuesday teatime, had been viewed by more than 300,000 people.

Josh Pearson replied: "Stopping serving beer at 8.50am, Burnley is the best place on earth."

Callum Taylor said: "What a boozer," while Ethan said: "Some gaff."

Mark Harrison pointed out the 15-minute pause will likely not be long enough to secure tickets, given the huge demand expected and Ticketmaster's track record of issues when tickets for big acts go on sale.

Justine Bedford, owner of The Royal Dyche said: “Myself and a lot of my staff are big fans of Oasis and it is part of our matchday playlist.

"That is what we will be having on the jukebox on Saturday and I think it is important for us all to have that chance to get them.

“We would be thrilled, and it would be close to being better than actually winning on Saturday but who knows.”

The pub opens early ahead of the big EFL Championship match, with the Clarets looking to extend their six-game winning run against Rovers, while the Blackburn side are aiming for a first derby win since 2010.

The pub's team are prepared for the event and it hopes punters can appreciate that staff will want the chance to secure a ticket for Oasis's first tour since 2009.

Having become a staple of the Burnley matchday experience, Claret’s superfan Justine changed the pub's name from The Princess Royal after Dyche led the team to European football in 2018.

Announcing on X the pub wrote: “Just a heads up Clarets...We will be stopping serving at 8.50am for 15 minutes whilst our staff attempt to get [Oasis] tickets."

Tickets for Oasis's Live '25 Tour go on sale at 9am on Saturday, August 31.
