Six vehicles were taken off the roads by police in Burnley this week after they were deemed not roadworthy.
A joint enforcement operation took place between police officers in the town and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) on Wednesday (August 21).
Officers said the immediate probations meant the driver had to stop travelling on the roads with immediate effect and rectify the defect with their vehicle before continuing.
A police spokesperson said: "Although there is work underway to deal with a range of issues highlighted, one common theme which runs through local areas is road safety.
"Similar checks will be conducted in the future. Please ensure that your vehicle is fit to be used on the roads."
