Electricity Northwest engineers are currently responding to a significant power outage affecting numerous areas across the Ribble Valley.
The incident, first reported just before 2.45pm today, has left 733 properties without power as their teams are working to identify and resolve the issue.
Initial reports indicate that the outage is due to an unexpected fault on a high-voltage cable that supplies electricity to homes and businesses in the region.
Areas impacted by the power loss are in the BB7 postcode and include Billington, Langho and Whalley, where residents and businesses are currently without electricity.
Electricity Northwest has assured the public that engineers are investigating the cause of the fault and are committed to restoring power as quickly as possible.
The company is urging customers who require additional support, especially those who are vulnerable or have special needs, to get in touch with them.
As the situation develops, further updates will be provided by the energy provider, including estimated times for restoring power.
Further updates will be issued as information is made available, and Electricity Northwest are providing updates through their social media channels and website.
