If you stood in the same position today, the view down King Street in Blackburn would be very different.
This photo was taken in 1983, shortly before the block of empty shops on the left was demolished.
Does anyone remember the shops including Dickinson’s pet store and a pram shop which had occupied the row?
On the right you can see a sign for Sweeney’s Carpets, a familiar name in the town for many years. Curry’s would move into the new unit which would be built following the demolition of the row of shops.
