Lancashire's police and crime commissioner has held a roundtable with business leaders to discuss crime.

Clive Grunshaw convened the meeting with representatives from Lancashire's Chamber of Commerce, his office, and Lancashire Constabulary.

The meeting took place at County Hall in Preston and centred on the impact of crime on businesses in the county.

Mr Grunshaw emphasised that tackling business and retail crime is a key priority in his developing Police and Crime Plan.

The roundtable allowed attendees to share their experiences and insights, improving relationships between businesses and the police.

Op Vulture, Lancashire Constabulary's initiative aimed at combating retail crime, was also discussed.

Mr Grunshaw said: "I am committed to ensuring that the public’s voice is heard in policing matters, and today’s roundtable was an invaluable opportunity for stakeholders to share the issues businesses in Lancashire are facing and how we can work together to address them.

"The top concerns from businesses, their employees and customers, largely focus on anti-social behaviour and business crime

"It’s clear that a proactive response to these issues is needed, and improved relationships between businesses and the police are at the heart of this."

Mr Grunshaw added that such meetings make a difference.

He also pledged his support for Lancashire Constabulary’s efforts to improve their response to business crime through initiatives like Op Vulture and Op Centurion.

He said: "As Commissioner, making Lancashire a safer place to live and work is my primary aim.

"This can only be achieved through strong leadership, a robust police force, and effective deterrents."

The roundtable was attended by representatives from Lancashire’s Chamber of Commerce.

They shared their concerns and experiences regarding business crime and anti-social behaviour, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts to address these challenges.
