Students at two Darwen schools were commended for their "hard work and dedication" following their A-level results.

Pupils at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (DACA) and Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio (DAES) are part of a new collaborative sixth form run by the Aldridge Education.

Principal at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, Claire Bailey, said: “Results day is always a nerve-wracking time for both students and staff – but it’s great to see smiling faces and celebrations going on.

"The years of hard work lead to this moment, and everything that we’re striving to do here at DACA is about setting our students up to go on to happy, successful next steps.

“We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication that the students have put in over the duration of their time here and their results today are a testament to that.

"They have been supported throughout by a committed staff team who have provided an environment for them to thrive."

Head of school at Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, Julie Green, said: “Our students should be incredibly proud of their fantastic achievements; it has been so wonderful to be able to celebrate with them.

"Our students have extremely bright futures ahead of them and it’s such a privilege now to get to watch fly.”

DAES student Anya W added: "DAES has moulded the best parts of me into someone I am proud to be.

"I will always speak highly of this school because of their endless efforts to shape me into the person I am.

"The teachers' ability to listen and help is something I could never describe, and I will forever be thankful for the time I have had here."
