A football fan is hoping to cycle to every single Blackburn Rovers away match this season to raise money for charity.
And his first destination will be a monumental three-day journey to Norwich.
Lewis Robinson heads Robinson Recruitment Group which is based in Darwen Street and is raising money to have a lodge built to provide a peaceful and tranquil sanctuary for patients undergoing cancer treatment, in memory of his friend who died from the illness.
Money raised through his JustGiving page will go towards the Smiley Smiley Josh Riley Foundation.
Friends and family joined Lewis at the Blackburn End on Wednesday morning as he prepared to begin his gruelling challenge.
Staff from Rovers also invited everyone to pitch side at Ewood Park to begin the epic ride.
Lewis is planning on cycling around 100 miles a day for the first match to Norwich, which is one of the furthest grounds away from Blackburn and arriving ahead of kick-off at 3pm on Saturday, August 17, at Carrow Road, some 244 miles away.
However later this month he has got something a little closer to home - Burnley's Turf Moor, only 18 miles up the road.
He said: “I know the journey will be both physically and mentally challenging due to the long distances, unpredictable weather conditions, and darker nights during the winter months.
"But it’s a challenge I’m willing to face in memory of my friend and to help local people suffering from this complicated and painful condition.
“Cancer treatment can be an exhausting process, not only physically but also emotionally.
"The lodge will provide a sanctuary for patients offering a peaceful environment to rest and rejuvenate between treatments.
"It will serve as a haven where they can find comfort and support during such a difficult time."
Lewis added: “Your support is crucial in making this lodge a reality, so any donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to our goal.
"Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families. Please join me on my journey and together we will make a difference.
“Finally, I want to thank you for reading about my challenge and for your generosity in helping me to make a difference. Let's build a place where hope and healing can flourish.”
The longest journeys Lewis faces are a colossal 359-mile trip to the furthest away day, Plymouth Argyle, and a 289-mile ride to Portsmouth.
