The deadline for car registrations at Burnley's Vintage and Performance Car Show is fast approaching.

The show, organised by Burnley Business Improvement District (BID) and supported by the Rotary Club of Burnley, will take place in the town centre on September 14, from 11am to 4pm.

This year, the event will span from St James's Street to Curzon Street, featuring a variety of classic and retro vehicles, live music, fairground rides, and a car-themed trail.

A highlight of the day will be the attendance of Optimus Prime from Transformers, who will be making special appearances at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm.

Gordon Salthouse, a Burnley BID board member, said: "After a wonderful event last year, we’re very much looking forward to bringing the Burnley Vintage and Performance Car Show back to the town centre this September and would encourage any interested exhibitors to register their vehicle before the cut-off point.

"With a whole line-up of activity taking place throughout the day, it’s set to be a great day for all the family, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our biggest show yet."

Those with vintage or performance vehicles, as well as classic and performance motorcycle owners, are invited to register as exhibitors by contacting Burnley BID.

The Burnley Vintage and Performance Car Show is a highlight on the town's calendar, with organisers promising a fun-filled day for all the family.

The weekend will also see Ormerod Street come alive with a free music festival, hosted by Bar Mojito and Remedy, on September 14 and 15.

This festival is in memory of Paul Bentley, the beloved owner of Smackwater Jack's.

The two-day event will feature live bands and has been organised to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice in Paul's memory.
