An inquest into the death of a 16-year-old Burnley boy who appears to have drowned on a school trip to the Lake District has been suspended pending the outcome of investigations by Cumbria Police.
Abuzr Mirza, from Burnley, died on July 25, while on a school trip to the Brockhole visitor centre on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Mr Cohen said it was appropriate further investigation by the coroner’s service would be suspended as he had been made aware by Cumbria Police it is conducting further inquiries into the death.
He said: “I send to all of Mr Mirza’s family, friends and loved ones the court’s profound sympathy and condolences for such a tragic death.”
Abuzr was a student at Dawatul Imaan Darul Uloom School in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
A statement from his school said: "This tragic event has had a profound effect on our whole school community.
“Everyone at the school is heartbroken.
“Abuzr was a lovely pupil who touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Abuzr’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
“Our pupils and staff have come together in special assemblies and events to remember Abuzr and support one another.
“We are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigations by the police and the Health and Safety Executive to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
