A man involved in a head-on crash on a bridge over the River Ribble was found to be more than double the drink-drive limit.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Dean Ackroyd accepted he had taken a narrow corner onto the bridge at Ribchester a "little too fast."
The incident occurred on May 25, when Ackroyd, 37, was driving a Tesla Model Y onto Ribchester Bridge.
Ackroyd, of Bainbridge Road, Longridge, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He blew 77 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath; the legal limit is 35mcg per 100ml.
He was fined £438, with £85 costs and a £175 victim surcharge, and banned from driving for 20 months.
Zabair Afzal, in mitigation, said his client had taken a tight corner onto the bridge too fast.
"Ironically the speed limit is 60 mph," said Mr Afzal. "His boss who drove my client here today said they took the bend at about 10 mph."
He said his client had been to a friend's house to watch football and they were meant to be going out for a meal.
"Their reservation was cancelled because of a funeral and he made the foolish decision to drive home," said Mr Afzal.
