A boutique-style charity shop, that specialises in children’s items and products for pregnant mothers, has opened in Clitheroe.

East Lancashire Hospice Kids has opened in Castle Street and is said to be the ideal place for families to find high-quality children’s clothing, maternity wear, toys, and books at affordable prices.

The mayor of the Ribble Valley and the mayor of Clitheroe attended the ribbon-cutting event.

They helped some children to cut the ribbon. Children’s entertainment was also provided.

The hospice is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to join the team at the new store

Families are encouraged to donate items that their little ones have outgrown, helping to support this new initiative.

The shop has taken over the site of the former coffee shop, Violet’s Deli.

A spokesperson for East Lancashire Hospice said: “We would like to thank the mayor of Ribble Valley and the mayor of Clitheroe who helped some of our supporting children cut the ribbon.

"Thank you also to The Senator Group for donating their time and talents to fit the shop for us.

“The hospice is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to join the team at the new store.

"Volunteering at East Lancashire Hospice Kids offers flexible hours to fit various schedules, making it a great opportunity for individuals looking to give back to their community.

“It’s also a chance to support the hospice, meet new people, and gain valuable experience. For those interested in volunteering, more information can be found on the East Lancashire Hospice website.

“The success of this new store relies on the generosity of the community. Donations of children’s clothing, maternity wear, baby clothing and toys are essential.

"Families are encouraged to donate items that their little ones have outgrown, helping to support this new initiative.

“The day promises to be filled with excitement, including children’s entertainment, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

“The new shop will feature a wide range of products, ensuring there is something for every family.

"East Lancashire Hospice looks forward to welcoming the community to East Lancashire Hospice Kids and thanks everyone for their continued support in making a difference.”
