A summer holiday programme in Blackburn - centred around the Leeds Liverpool Canal - is in full swing.
Under the Super Slow Way initiative, a series of activities have been drawn up around their canalside spaces at Audley, Mill Hill and Eanam Wharf.
And promoters of the programme are keen to see some new faces get involved with everything from a community radio station to spinning and weaving and gardening.
Aboard the Bill Hunt barge, moored at Eanam Wharf, the Drift radio programme is offering a series of workshops, ahead of a special broadcast on August 31.
A Super Slow Way (SSW) spokesman said: "Drift will become a live community radio station on the water, broadcasting the life and sounds of the canal, both with and by the people who are connected to this region of Lancashire.
"Content including interviews and group discussions, live music and poetry, pre-recorded radio features, field recordings and sound artworks created as part of a series of audio residencies taking place across the linear park this summer, all featuring, hosted and produced by members of the local community in a series of events will then be shared in the final broadcast taking place over the course of one day on Saturday, August 31, whilst travelling slowly along the canal."
The station is a collaboration between SSW and Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Young People’s Services
Meanwhile the scheme's Spinning and Weaving School is returning to Blackburn Market every Saturday, delivered by The Forest of Bowland Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers.
Creative types will be spinning flax, cotton and wool on spinning wheels.
Regular gardening clubs are also taking place at Audley on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
Members can work with local artist and aspiring horticulturist Ian Halawi to develop and maintain the green space. Tools and gloves will be provided.
And the Mill Hill summer programme is underway at the Canalside Activity & Environment Centre, offering things like printmaking, an almanac workshop and a picnic.
The Audley Space is off Higher Audley Street and the canalside centre is off Bonsall Street.
