Blackpool Central Pier
A woman is in hospital after falling through a section of a pier in Blackpool.
Lancashire Police were called at 4.30pm yesterday (August 6) to reports of a woman falling through the Central Pier.
The pier was closed for a period of time yesterday while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A cordon was in place underneath the pier while the tide was out.
A police spokesperson said: "We received a report of a woman having fallen through a section of the pier in Blackpool at around 4:30pm yesterday.
"The woman has been taken to hospital with injuries."
The extent of the woman's injuries is not yet known.
