A Lancashire inn has been shortlisted for an award at the AA Hospitality Awards 2024.

Introducing the shortlist, the AA said: “The AA has announced shortlists for seven of their most distinguished awards ahead of the grand ceremony on Monday 23 September, at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London.

“Shortlists have been revealed for the AA Sustainable Award; AA Spa of the Year; AA Housekeeper of the Year and AA Food Service Award. All awards highlight the very best within UK hospitality, but who will be crowned the 2024 winners?”

Commenting on the award shortlists Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Hotel & Hospitality Services said: “We’re thrilled to announce the highly anticipated shortlists for seven of our esteemed AA Hospitality Awards.

“This year’s exceptional finalists show the highest standards of dedication and innovation, reflecting the latest 2024 trends that have shaped the UK hospitality landscape.

“From sustainable practices to tech-driven customer experiences, these remarkable individuals and establishments are a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence in our dynamic and ever-evolving industry.

What the AA said about The Cartford Inn

The Cartford Inn in Little Ecclestone is shortlisted for the Inn of the Year award while Paula Seddon at Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort is up for the AA Housekeeper of the Year award.

Explaining the Inn of the Year award, the AA said: “This award recognises excellent levels of quality throughout, outstanding levels of hospitality and service, with a focus on local character and community.”

While the Housekeeper of the Year award recognises “exceptional dedication and performance” and “celebrates individuals who consistently exceed expectations.”

The Cartford Inn was described by the AA inspector as a “stylish inn close to the crossing of the River Wyre.”

They added: “The family-run, 17th-century Cartford Inn enjoys extensive views towards the Lake District and offers stylish and chic accommodation together with award-winning food. Some bedrooms have Juliet balconies with views of the river.

“Eating on the terrace is possible in warmer weather and a private function room is available for small parties. There’s also their own branded on-site TOTi Deli and designer Home store.”

The Cartford Inn was named AA Inn of the Year at the AA B&B Awards 2024 in July this year.

The official rating for the inn is 5 stars on the AA website and it’s been well received on Tripadvisor where it has a 4.5/5 star rating from 437 reviews.
