Drivers are facing long queues on a section of a busy Blackburn road.

There are two sets of temporary lights in Montague Street at two different sections of the road. The roadworks are causing further delays on adjoining routes.

One lane of Montague Street has been cordoned off for the past five days and one lane of Feilden Street is also closed to traffic.

This has been causing delays for drivers heading into Montague Street from Barbara Castle Way, with traffic backed up in Preston New Road.

In the opposite direction drivers heading into the road from King Street and Wainwright Way are also affected.

Drivers can avoid this section of the road by heading into Stonyhurst Road and then Oakenhurst Road.

This work on gas pipes is set to continue until August 16, according to the One Network.
