Six fire engines were called to a blaze in Blackburn on Saturday evening (August 3).
At around 7pm, six fire engines attended a commercial building fire, on Stanley Street. Firefighters used a range of equipment to tackle the blaze.
The public was urged to keep windows and doors closed and avoid the area if they could smell smoke.
At 9pm, the incident was reduced to one fire engine.
Crews continued to monitor and extinguish hotspots throughout the night. Crews left the scene around 8:30am this morning.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 6.52 on August 3, six fire engines from Hyndburn, Blackburn, Burnley and Preston attended a commercial building fire on Stanley Street, Blackburn. Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
“If you can see or smell smoke, please keep your windows and doors closed. Please avoid the area.
“Update at 9pm. This incident has been reduced to one fire engine, crew remain in attendance monitoring and extinguishing hotspots.”
