A man who pleaded guilty to murdering his housemate has had a sentence date fixed.
Richard Chamberlain suffered multiple stab injuries when he was attacked by Frank Wrona, 44, at the property in New Market Street, Colne.
Officers were called on March 31 shortly before 2.30pm and found Richard, 34, with multiple injuries.
A post-mortem examination found Richard died of multiple stab wounds.
Wrona was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder.
He appeared at Preston Crown Court on July 17 for a further case management hearing where he entered a guilty plea.
At a mention hearing on Friday (August 2) a sentence and trial of issue hearing was set for Monday, September 9.
The next hearing in time will be on August 16 to finalise further details.
At the time an investigation was launched in April, Detective Chief Inspector Jill Riley said: “First and foremost my thoughts are with Richard’s loved ones at this difficult time.
“We are asking anyone who saw or heard a disturbance or anything suspicious, in the area of New Market Street yesterday afternoon to make contact with us.
“I know people will be understandably concerned by what has happened. I would like to reassure them that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.”
