A road in Burnley is closed due to a fire.
Colne Road is currently closed and police anticipate it will be ‘closed for some time’.
Eight fire engines have been called to the blaze and fire crews are currently in attendance.
There are reports that takeaway, The Kebab Lab, is on fire after firefighters were seen entering the site.
Officers have advised motorists to find an alternative route and avoid the area. We will update you when the road is back open.
The fire service has been approached for more details.
A police spokesperson said: “We want to update you and let you know that Colne Road in Burnley is currently closed due to a fire.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time.
“In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and avoiding the area.
“We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”
A spokesperson for the fire service said:" "At 4.13 on July 31, eight fire engines from Burnley, Nelson, Hyndburn, Great Harwood, Rawtenstall and Darwen along with the aerial ladder platform from Blackburn attended a commercial building fire on Colne Road, Burnley.
"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used three hose reel jets and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.
Please avoid the area."
