Taken in 1990, this photo shows one of the many ‘lost’ pubs of Blackburn.
The Thwaites Arms was on Whalley New Road. It would appear as though the picture was taken to illustrate the fire brigade being called either to the pub or the garage next door.
Did you ever have a drink in the Thwaites Arms? What was the pub like?
You can share your memories by emailing bygones@nqnw.co.uk.
You can also send photos of other pubs in East lancashire which have disappeared over the years which we would then share with Looking Back readers.
