“Who doesn’t want a hot pie at halftime!”

Colne FC kicked off the new season on Friday with an exciting new signing in Haffners’ Pies.

The popular Burnley pie brand is taking over as stadium sponsor for the 2024/25 season and officials, players and supporters alike couldn’t be happier.

When Ted Cockett, Haffners’ sales director, was approached to rebrand the Colne FC stadium as the Haffners’ Stadium, he said that it was a “no-brainer.”

Mr Cockett has a particular affinity for the club, as he used to play there for 10 years and was assistant manager at the club for a short period.

He said: "Haffners’ has been supplying the club with pies for some time and it has formed a very strong relationship with the club.

“Colne FC pushes hard for a small club and it’s fantastic to see so many football fans from the local community coming to matches and supporting the club in so many ways.

“Pies and football have a long history together. Match days bring together two things which we love in this country, especially up north!

“Here’s hoping for a successful season of football…and pies!”

Glenn Stock, chair of Colne FC, is delighted about the club’s new premier signing.

He added: “We’re thrilled to have Haffners’ on board for the new season as our new stadium sponsor.

"It’s a brand which really resonates with our supporters and who doesn’t want a hot pie at half time!

“Here’s hoping this brings us luck for the new season.”

The Reds hosted their first match against AFC Liverpool at the Haffners’ stadium on Friday, July 26, and will play their Barlick rivals later today, Tuesday, July 30.
