A man who was shot dead in a Lancashire field has been named as Thomas Olverson by police.
A murder investigation was launched on Thursday (July 25) following reports of a firearms discharge at a field in Pinfold Lane, Scarisbrick.
Thomas, 75, of Marsh Hey Farm, was found to have suffered gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Police are continuing to ask the public for information as the investigation continues.
They ask that anyone who was in the Pinfold Lane area between 12-5pm on July 25 and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.
