A popular bar and eatery in Great Harwood has announced it  will start to offer Italian food, alongside a new wine and cocktail menu.

Mellows Lounge Bar, in Queen Street, is a bespoke drinking and dining experience on one of East Lancashire’s busiest high streets.

The lounge bar opened 18 months ago and struggled to succeed in its previous offerings.

But now, Mellows Lounge Bar has announced in the next three weeks it will be serving an Italian-inspired menu from a new kitchen, with a new wine and cocktail menu.

Opening hours will be changing, and live music will also now be offered.

A spokesperson for Mellows Lounge Bar Great Harwood said: "Since Mellows opened over 18 months ago, we have attempted food with little success.

"We have been working hard to find the correct balance of type of food and chef. Well, the journey is over.

"We are very excited to announce that within the next three weeks we will be serving an Italian-based menu from our new kitchen, alongside our new wine and cocktail menu.

"Opening hours will be changing, and live music will be booked in the diary.

"It has taken time as we have been working on other projects, however with hard work and planning we are ready for Mellows' next chapter."

Items on the new potential menu may include penne alfredo, pasta carbonara, and risotto al fungi.

Available appetisers include patatas bravas, marinated olives, antipasti, fries, and bruschetta pomodoro.

Pizza will also be served, in flavours such as pepperoni, margarita, and calzone.

Mellows Lounge Bar will also be hosting a 'Demented Disco' event, consisting of 13 hours of music across two venues on August Bank Holiday Sunday, August 25.

Acts include El Grego, Larry Sosa, and Jacob Coid from 3pm to 2am.
